Blessed Sacrament School Reviews

We left Blessed Sacrament because although they really talk about what a great school they are almost every single child gets on honor roll. Not every child should be an honor roll student. This school does not have students that traditionally test high for high schools (not public or Catholic) and so consequently every parent does like this school because they feel like their child is wonderful. My children did great here but the reality is that children need a challenge and not a 'feel good' approach.

If you came to this website to find a GREAT SCHOOL, you have in Blessed Sacrament. I have found BSS to offer the absolute best elementary and middle school experience for my children. Its hard to get into, because everyone in town knows what a treasure this school really is. But once you are in, your children will SOAR. What a wonderful administration and faculty! They understand that childhood education is a partnership between teachers, students and parents. And everyone BELIEVES in one another. What a truly GREAT SCHOOL. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is a school that has seen a major resurgence in the last three years due to the great leadership and long-term vision of its principal. It has found its core identity, and gone from an average school to one that everyone believes in. A phenomenal place with phenomenal teachers, who love their students and will do anything to ensure their success. Parental involvement is like nothing you will ever see. If you are looking for a safe, loving environment and world class education--the way school's used to be---you have found the perfect family at Blessed Sacrament.

We entered Blessed Sacrament three years ago very discouraged with Catholic education. After speaking with the principal, we decided to give BSS a try and have never looked back. My child was behind academically but with their constant support and quality programs my child has risen to the top of the class. The level of academics is challenging and all students are expected to rise to meet the expectations the teachers have set for them. Parent involvement is incredible. Great things are happening and parents want to be a part of it. Teachers need and want the parents involved, which is wonderful. The relationship at BSS is like a big family. We all support one another. What a great place to be! I look forward to our future there.

Our family moved here with the military and we are so lucky to have found Blessed Sacrament. I feel confident that my children will be prepared academically for high school and beyond. Blessed Sacrament sets the bar high. The teachers are amazing and expect a lot out of their students. The level of parent involvement is also exceptional. My children feel like they are part of a family at BSS, not just another student. In addition I am impressed by the level of respect the students give to one another. I don't have a single complaint about BSS.

This school has emerged from a difficult period involving leadership cahnges into a stable and secure new identity. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly--a very loving environment for your child. Tremendous parent involvement and caring, professional teachers.

My son entered the pre-kindergarten class of Blessed sacrament in August 2004. He really blossomed socially under the care of the teacher and paraprofessional. He is now eager to start kindergarten at BSS. I don't see a cliquish atmosphere at the school. Instead, I see a school where teachers know the student, their families, and their individual needs. Students are known not only in the classroom, but within the parish.

Our daughter attended BSS from 4th-8th grades. 4th&5th were top notch, but,the coursework, projects and homework declined from 6th grade on. Loss of some excellent teachers facilitated this. Preparation for high school was mostly poor, and there was virtually no guidance in choosing a high school. Some excellent teachers remain, but not enough. Better management and less 'clique' based leadership needed. Recommend for lower grades only.
